Inka Museum
The Inka Museum houses thousands of archaeological pieces such as ceramics, textiles, tools and mummies that explain the cultural evolution of Cusco from pre-Inca times to the colonial period
Archaeological collection
The museum presents a vast collection of artifacts from different historical periods of the Andes. Among the most outstanding pieces are ceremonial vessels, agricultural implements, and textiles crafted using ancestral techniques.
These pieces demonstrate the high level of cultural development achieved by Andean civilizations before the arrival of the Spanish.
Museum history
The building that houses the Inka Museum also has great historical value. The colonial structure was adapted to preserve and exhibit archaeological objects that tell the story of the evolution of Andean culture.
Currently, the museum is administered by the National University of San Antonio Abad of Cusco.
